With exclusive access to @telegram’s 1B+ users, @ton_blockchain is a powerful ecosystem for EVM developers looking to scale their applications to a large audience.

TAC streamlines the integration of EVM applications with TON by introducing a new architecture that ensures seamless interoperability. Instead of creating two separate ecosystems by bridging Ethereum to TON, TAC enables an environment where EVM-based smart contracts deployed on TAC can directly interact with the TON user base.

This is achieved through TAC’s EVM L1, which provides a dedicated execution environment for EVM-compatible contracts and TON Adapter, which facilitates communication between TAC-deployed applications and TON wallets. By leveraging these components, TAC allows developers to expand their applications to TON without modifying their existing smart contracts, ensuring a unified experience that maintains transaction atomicity, liquidity, and user interactions natively on TON.

Hybrid dApps on TAC

@CurveFinance, a decentralized exchange for stablecoin trading, is already live on the TAC testnet. Curve can be accessed via Telegram for users with TON wallets and assets on the TON blockchain. Meanwhile, @zerolendxyz, one of the leading lending platforms, is set to go live on the TAC testnet soon.

Several other important projects are also building Hybrid dApps to tap into TON’s growing user base, including:

  • @SiloFinance - a high-yield, risk-isolated money market for lending and borrowing crypto assets.
  • @CryptoAlgebra - a modular engine empowering DEXes with concentrated liquidity & dynamic fees tech.
  • @Tonco_io - A next-gen DEX on TON, powered by Algebra Labs.
  • @izumi_Finance  - a multi-chain DeFi protocol providing one-stop liquidity-as-a-service.
  • @MidasRWA - a DeFi protocol looking to bring institutional-grade real-world assets on chain.
  • @multiplifi - a yield protocol for native and real-world tokenized assets.
  • @Wing_Finance - a DeFi money market for lending, borrowing, and yield optimization with AI and account abstraction.
  • @tonhedge - an innovative options trading protocol on TON.
  • @BimaBTC - a Bitcoin-backed stablecoin for universal yield.
  • @GetYieldFi - an on-chain asset management network for yield.
  • @taco (powered by DODO DEXpert @BreederDodo) - a decentralized trading protocol for web3.

With multiple projects already adopting TAC, let’s examine why they’re deploying their apps on it and how the integration with TON works.

Until recently, EVM-based applications had to be adapted for TON Virtual Machine (TVM) compatibility to reach Telegram’s 1B+ users. But now, TAC allows EVM developers to integrate their applications with Telegram and TON effortlessly.

So, how do Hybrid dApps function? Let’s break it down.

Integrating EVM apps with TON and Telegram

TAC’s novel concept of Hybrid dApps enables EVM applications to access TON through the TON Adapter. This innovative approach connects TAC EVM L1 and TVM, allowing developers to deploy EVM-based dApps without rewriting their entire codebase.

This is the essence of TAC’s Hybrid dApp framework. There’s no need to leave TON to access Ethereum-compatible features, as you can now experience them within the same environment.

How to deploy Hybrid dApps with TAC

To deploy Hybrid dApps using TAC, developers need to follow just three key steps:

  1. Deploy your EVM dApp on TAC EVM L1 – Built on CosmosSDK and Ethermint and secured by dPoS and (when available) @babylonlabs_io Bitcoin Staking, TAC EVM L1 is where EVM code is deployed and executed.
  2. Build a TVM frontend with TAC SDK  – The SDK abstracts away the complexities of TVM frontend building, ensuring TON wallets interact smoothly with TON Adapter and TAC-deployed dApps. The SDK allows EVM developers to include TVM transaction logic in their TON-based frontend, simply working with a client-side SDK in JavaScript.
  3. Deploy a Proxy App on the EVM side – This Proxy App connects the TON Adapter with the target application deployed on the TAC EVM L1, handling incoming messages from the TON Adapter, executing smart contract interactions, and returning results or assets on the TON side. You can read more about Proxy Apps here.

These two components ensure frictionless cross-chain interactions between TON and the TAC EVM L1.

Strengthening the TON Ecosystem

At its core, TAC’s Hybrid dApp concept is about addition, not subtraction. Rather than fragmenting blockchain ecosystems, TAC acts as an add-on and supercharges TON’s capabilities. Users can interact with Ethereum-compatible applications using their existing TON wallets, while developers can quickly access Telegram’s massive user base.

As a result, TON will see increased dApp adoption and greater asset inflows, driven by the presence of well-known, battle-tested applications operating within the TON ecosystem.
